This project had a simple but labor intense challenge, the proposal was to trace a mandala that was painted on the wall of charming hostel located at Northeast region in Brazil, so that it could be used as the place's logotype.

The final result was surprising and unexpected as you will see here.
Left side: the original painting.
Right side: Colored version of the resulting tracing.
Then I suggested a "cleaning" to add style and make it viable for a logotype. The goal here was to make the original piece look like a lacemaker work, a handicraft that made women from this region known in Brazil.
This is the final result, after several rounds of simplification color and typefaces experimentation and proportion and alignment studies.
Initially intended to be a simple job became this unique, unusual and stylish logotype.
